Coaches are seated with their backs to the singers, and their decisions are based solely on voice.

Rivalry between coaches to get the best acts! (Shows 1 to 7)
2/ Battle Shows
Four coaches now have a team of 14 acts each.
Each coach divides their team into duos and sets them a song they must sing together.
The duos battle it out on stage in front of a live audience.
The coach choses only one person from the duo to proceed to the live shows.
However, each coach may steal two acts that their fellow coaches have sent home. Each coach will take a total of nine acts into the Live Knockouts. (Shows 8, 9, 10 and 11)
3/ The Live Knockouts
In this stage the series goes live and sees 36 acts compete over 3 weeks to get a place in the live quarter finals. Each week of the Live knockouts three acts from each team perform and their coach can take only one of them through to the quarter finals. (Shows 12, 13 and 14)
4/ Live Shows
In the final stage, the twelve reamining acts compete weekly to become The Voice of Ireland. (Shows 15, 16 and 17)
Quarter Finals - With twelve acts remaining from the live knockout rounds they now all compete within their teams in the quarter finals. Each team will have three acts and the public will vote their favourite act from each team through to the semi finals. Of the remaining two acts the coach must choose who will go through to the semi finals alongside the act with the highest public vote and who will go home. A total of eight acts, two from each team will go through to the semi finals.
Semi-Finals - All of the remaining eight acts compete against one another. The top four acts with the highest public vote will go through to the final.
Final - All four acts perform twice during the finaland based on public vote only one act will be crowned The Voice of Ireland 2015 and win a recording contract with Universal Music.
